Maddison’s original due date was the 28th July 2019. She was going to have the perfect summertime birthdays!
Jason and I always knew this day was going to be a challenge, our first ‘trigger’ for better a word. It was a few months prior that I had the urge to create Maddison’s Movement and share our story so naturally, I took to achieving something good on the date that otherwise could have gone very differently. In just a few short weeks, I planned (with the help of some lovely side-kicks and amazing suppliers!) an event at the Rooftop gardens for friends, family and anyone who wanted to support or could resonate with the charity to attend and enjoy an afternoon of drinks, BBQ and supposed to be ‘live music’ (long story short, the music never went ahead). We held a huge raffle with gifts so kindly donated by various shops and businesses both big and small and charged all attendees a ticket price of £15.00 to cover their food, a welcome drink and small donation to the charity.
The day couldn’t have been more of a success, it was both full of laughter and tears, but most importantly money. The total raised was outstanding for our first event and we smashed our initial goal of £2,000 in just one day.
Our sincere thanks and love go out to everyone who attended, helped, supported and bought raffle tickets, including the amazing hosts themselves Rooftop gardens who couldn’t have been more generous in lending us the venue at no cost along with discounted food rates. Huge love to all!!
